Day 1: Mexico City

Mexico City
Arrival at Mexico City International Airport and transfer to the Hampton Inn or similar hotel. Overnight stay.


Day 2: Mexico City

Mexico City
Breakfast. Full day dedicated to the visit of the City and the archaeological zone of Teotihuacán. Visit to the "Zócalo" (the main square with its Cathedral and the National Palace), the Templo Mayor, the church of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the most important pilgrimage point in Latin America. Later we will visit Teotihuacan with its imposing pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.


Day 3: Oaxaca

Mexico City - Puebla - Oaxaca
Breakfast. Departure for Puebla and visit of this beautiful colonial city, famous for its Baroque churches and local ceramics. Lunch in a local restaurant. Continuation to Oaxaca and, on arrival, transfer to the Casa Conzatti hotel or similar.


Day 4: Oaxaca

Oaxaca
Breakfast. In the morning visit to the city of Oaxaca, known as the ‘Cuna of the Patriots’. Visit the Zocalo, the city centre of Oaxaca, where the Cathedral and Santo Domingo Church are located. Visit to the old Convent of St Catherine of Siena and the city market, one of the most typical in the region. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit of Monte Albán, the religious capital of the Zapotec people. Built on a levelled hill, it is rich in pyramids, tombs, bas-reliefs and its panoramic location enhances its beauty.
In the afternoon, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.


Day 5: Tehuantepec

Oaxaca - Mitla - Tehuantepec
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit to Mitla, an ancient Mixteco centre, still rich in pre-Columbian buildings. Continuation to Tehuantepec (4 hours). Lunch. In the afternoon continuation to Tehuantepec, a small fishing village on the Pacific side.
Overnight stay at the Calli Hotel or similar.


Day 6: San Cristobal De Las Casas

Tehuantepec - Tuxtla Gutiérrez - San Cristóbal de las Casas
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Chiapas, where a stop at Chiapa de Corzo is planned for a visit on lances to the impressive Sumidero Canyon. Continuation to San Cristóbal de las Casas.
Overnight stay in San Cristóbal de las Casas at the Gran Barrio Hotel or similar.


Day 7: San Cristobal De Las Casas

San Cristóbal de las Casas
Breakfast at the hotel. A day dedicated to visiting the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, located a few kilometres from San Cristóbal, and visit to the city with its local market, where you can admire the handicraft work of the local indigenous people and its famous churches, including the baroque Santo Domingo.


Day 8: Palenque

San Cristóbal de las Casas - Palenque
Breakfast. Today we will descend from the mountains of Chiapas through green valleys. Scheduled stop to admire the Cascades Agua Azul and. Lunch.
Arrival in Palenque and accommodation in La Aldea del Halach Huinic Hotel.


Day 9: Campeche

Palenque - Campeche
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning dedicated to visiting the archaeological area of Palenque, still half hidden in the tropical jungle, full of charm and unique pyramids. Lunch in a local restaurant and departure for Campeche. On arrival there is a short visit of the ancient city, enclosed and fortified with towers and walls, which retains a strong colonial flavour.
Overnight stay at the Francis Drake Hotel or similar.


Day 10: Merida

Campeche - Uxmal - Mérida
Breakfast. First stop today at the archaeological site of Uxmal, one of the most important vestiges of the Maya civilisation. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon arrival in Merida, the capital of the State of Yucatán, the ‘white city’, so called because of its colonial buildings. A stop at the ‘zocalo’ is planned to visit the Cathedral, the Gobernó Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Montejo House. Overnight stay at the Mision de Fray Diego hotel or similar.


Day 11:

Merida - Chichen Itza - Cenote Chukum - Cancun/Riviera Maya
Breakfast. Departure for a visit to Chichen Itza, perhaps the best known of the Maya archaeological sites, with the famous Pyramid of Kukulkan. At the end refreshing swim in the cenote Chukun and lunch. Arrival in Riviera Maya or Cancún in the late afternoon and accommodation in the chosen hotel (not included).
